When God Speaks...
My experience with the Lord hasn't been so much an audible conversation, but more of a confirmation with the word. And that confirmation is hard for me to ignore.
I have been praying a lot more for friends around me and he gave me this verse.
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.” 1 John 5:14-15.
I really love this verse. Even if my prayer isn't answered, because He knows what's best, I know He hears me. Sometimes we forget, sometimes I forget, that He is listening. When I feel lonely, He is there just taking my words in. When I read it, I loved it, but I kind of felt like I wasn't sure about it. I think it was a great reminder that God is there, listening to my every word. He's listening attentively and He is ready to answer my requests. Even with the amazing verse, I let it go and didn't understand the full power.
I got to the track this morning and my homepage is biblegateway.com. They have a verse of the day and you will never guess what exact verse what up for the day: 1 John 5:14-15. I was blown away. How did God know I need this confirmation? I can obviously answer that question, but its an amazing feeling to get this type of confirmation. Ashley, just ask me.
So I asked. And I'll keep asking.
