Another Weekend Full of Fun!

Another weekend, another race. Although my job isn't always on the go like those who follow Supercross every weekend from January to May, I do always feel like I'm on the go. This weekend, Fontana, Calif. It doesn't matter if you are attending a Nascar or Road Race, its hard to get excited about coming here. The facilities are pretty nice, but the track in general is just hard to spectate. Hopefully they will figure it out sometime, but I'm curious to see what ticket sales will be like.

Along with covering the road race, I will be looking after the results of the WORCS, GNCC, ATV, and Amateur National in Texas. Its going to be a fun weekend.

Just watching the lap times on the TV. This year, there won't be TV at all during the weekend.

And now just waitin...

Stay tuned...I just might have something interesting to say. Well, maybe not.

Havasu Heat

While at Lake Havasu this past weekend, our boat got pulled over because we started moving and there were people over the side. It was nothing crazy, we were actually trying to link up with another boat, but the San Bernardino cops were in full effect. Well, at least they were trying to get some good footage for their TV show Havasu Heat.

no helmet, not cool!

So I'm on day four of my trip in Daytona Beach, Florida and there is one fact about Florida that disturbs me every year I come: Motorcycle Riders Don't Wear Helmets!

I honestly don't know what their reasoning is for asking death to knock on their door. According to motorcycle-florida.com, in 2006, there were 21 deaths during the 10 day event from motorcycle accidents. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? These numbers make our industry look incredible dangerous and in fact, it really isn't as long as you wear the proper gear and have the right training.

Look, I know there are times when all the proper gear and training are done and there are still accidents, but not wearing a helmet is the most ludacris action I've seen in a long time.

So if you are one of those people who don't wear a helmet when riding, just know its the most UNATTRACTIVE thing i've seen.

Yep. That's my story. Thanks for listening.

AHHH I'm on the road, again!

This week is the official start to the travel season: Daytona Beach, Florida. Here is where I start the craziness! Here is where my life becomes more chaotic. But thats ok for now, just as long as we have fun I am definitely ok with the travel.

So this week is the season opener of AMA Pro Road Racing. My initial reaction was to put down AMA Superbike, but the series has changed has this past season to an organization who has renamed the series AMA Pro Road Racing. I do like the title, but the fact that Superbikes isn't the premier class anymore still blows my mind. There are actually a lot of things that blow my mind this season. Like the lack of communication between the media at AMA and the OEM media. Why is it so hard to return phone calls or emails? I just don't understand. Wow...I'm definitely venting a little huh. Needless to say, I'm not really even looking forward to this week.

Waiting in the Atlanta Airport. It wont be long when this is my final destination...
less than a month.

Switching subjects. I have been trying to a bible verse everyday during the season of lent, and a lot of what I come across makes me realize that I need to remember all that the Lord has done for me. In Joshua, after the Lord did so much for the people like helping them cross the Jordan, they put up stones of rememberance for all that had been done. Its a great symbol for what we should do...remember how blessed we are. It may seem like I have it easy, but I definietly get stressed with life, work, and money especially. Its easy to get overwhelmed but I need to just remember whats truly important. Thank you Jesus!

I hope you all have a great week! I will be trying to update all from Daytona. So stay tuned!
