I arrived into Oakland on Wednesday morning. It was an early morning with my flight being at 7 a.m. and everything went smoothly considering I was on Southworst…oh I mean Southwest. I go to the rental car place and she gave me two options. I knew I didn’t like the first one, so I went with the Prius. If only I had remembered what a Prius was; a hybrid. Now I have nothing against saving the environment but seriously, make the car easier to work. After having trouble starting it as I left the rental place, I got stuck in a parking lot for about 15 minutes because it wouldn’t start. I was so incredibly frustrated and I finally had to call the Avis roadside assistance. The lad got a little snappy with me but eventually helped me figure out the stupidity that is a hybrid. Ahh.
Next. Well, the next issue that made my day “fun” was something that I probably shouldn’t discuss but all in all, made my lunch date (a press luncheon) in the city challenging.
Next: From the lunch, I had to find the offices of Comcast. It was about 2 p.m. and naturally it was a busy time to be going around a strange city. I found the street, parked and suddenly realized I was about 6 blocks from the office. I decided to walk and why not, it’s San Francisco. I love San Francisco. As I walked, some random guy walking next to me made a comment on someone walking with a very expensive painting. We chatted for two blocks and parted ways. So funny. So random. I loved that! Finally, an upbeat part to my day.
From there, things picked up a little. I drove to my hotel about 30 minutes north in Sonoma and went to pick up our truck drivers. The rest of the night was pleasant and I was thankful my craziness was over.
Thursday I was rushing to get Jamie Hacking, one of my riders, to a pre-game interview at AT&T Park in San Francisco. It was fun once we got there and the stress was reduced. I've included pictures.
And today? Well...basically i haven't met anyone that is more clumsy than me. Many trips and almost falls in front of lots of people. Thankfully no bruises.
I know…poor me. I had a bad day or two or three. But one thing that I love is that I can look at all that and laugh at it. Why take life so seriously? Exactly.
I’m including pictures from the past three days. Have fun. Talk soon. Miss everyone!
Don and Dave as we go into Cline Winery. You can't come to wine country and not stop by one of the dozens of beautiful wineries.
This is Brian Wilson and Jamie. Wow...if only I liked the Giants.
I thought this was funny. The tall guy was close to 7 feet and the short guy was about 5'9". It was the movie Twins in real life.
