Wow...I'm blogging

I never thought I would actually create a blog. But since I like to write my thoughts and I'm always on the road, I figured it would be a good way for my friends to stay connected with what I'm doing. Yeah, I know...I'm about five months too late but hey, it's a start. What I hope to get out of this blog is just what my title says: to stay connected while I'm "On The Road...Again." And if not that, something for people to look at if their ever bored at work or at home. If you are reading this, thank you for your interest in my life. I really appreciate it since I sometimes feel like people forget about me when I leave. But that's a another story. So, in a nutshell (look I'm trapped in a nutshell) thank you!

So where am I think weekend? Just outside Atlanta, Georgia in a town called Braselton. We are here for the 10th round of the AMA Superbike Championship Series. Just in case you don't know what I do...well: I work for Kawasaki's racing team. I job is to perform the public relations duties for the road race, off-road, ATV, drag race, and amateur programs. When I travel to a road race I do several behind the scenes duties. I write updates on the qualifying done each day, write race reports after the days' races, make sure the riders have the proper "gear" (i.e. Hat with sponsors, Monster Energy can), take photos, interview riders, make sure the autograph signing is attended by all the riders, and have fun!

Now that you know what I do while I'm on the road (and are probably bored to tears), I can tell you what today has been like. Thankfully I was able to get a ride to the track a little bit later than normal at 8:30 a.m. Once I got there, I watched a little bit of the Superstock practice.

I don't normally watch this practice since Kawasaki doesn't race in this class, but a good family friend has come over from Australia to race in this class. Jamie, the Australian Superbike Champion, finished with an impressive fourth-place in practice behind some of the top names in the class. After I chit-chat a little bit more, it was time for Supersport practice.

All the Kawasaki riders were out for this one and our guys did pretty well. The practices are for an hour and they always seem to fly by like when I watch Scrubs on DVD. "Wow...I can't believe I've watched the whole fifth season in one sitting"...haha just kidding. You know what I'm talking about. Check out Ben Attard's helmet. Let's just say he's ready to race! Immediately after the Supersport practice was Superbike practice.

They, too, went out for and hour. Let's just say, by the time all this was done, I was ready for lunch.

Oh and some place I usually make it to right when I get there:Ahhh....the espresso machine! How do I love thee? oh....sorry.

We did pretty good and I'm ready for racing tomorrow. That is, if it doesn't rain.
